Working as a social psychiatric nurse (SPN) in healthcare

Are you a nurse with a passion for psychiatry and the social context? As a self-employed Social Psychiatric Nurse (SPN) through Vince, you can set your own rates and working hours, while we take care of most of the administration. This allows you to focus on outpatient care, crisis interventions, and providing psychosocial support.

What does a social psychiatric nurse (SPN) do?

An SPV focuses on both the psychological and social aspects of a person's life. You often work in the community or at a mental health institution, where you assist clients with issues such as anxiety disorders, depression, or addiction. You visit people at home, conduct interviews, and develop treatment plans, often in collaboration with psychiatrists, social workers, and other disciplines. In addition, you are responsible for prevention and crisis intervention: you try to pick up on signs that indicate a possible escalation or relapse in time.
